1. Who we are

This website (“gedser-rostock.pro”, “we”, “us”) provides information about the ferry crossings between Denmark and Germany — Gedser–Rostock and Puttgarden–Rødby — and accepts reservation requests for places on those crossings. Full company details, registration number and postal address are set out in the site imprint and are also available on request at the contact address below.

We are an independent service. We are not a shipping company and we do not operate vessels. The carriage itself is performed by the ferry operator running the sailing concerned, under that operator’s own conditions of carriage.

2. Scope

These terms apply to every visit to this website and to every reservation request submitted through it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

Where you make a reservation, the ferry operator’s conditions of carriage apply in addition to these terms and govern the transport itself, including boarding, safety on board, delays, cancellations and liability for passengers, vehicles and luggage.

3. Reservation requests

1. Completing and submitting the booking form is a request for places on a sailing. It is not in itself a concluded contract of carriage.
2. A reservation exists only once we have confirmed it to you in writing, by email, with the sailing, date and allocated places stated.
3. Capacity on any sailing is limited and is allocated by vehicle length, weight class and passenger count. A requested departure may be unavailable even shortly after you submit the form.
4. We may decline a request, for example where capacity is exhausted, where the vehicle data supplied cannot be carried on the sailing chosen, or where the request appears to be automated, fraudulent or duplicated.

4. Accuracy of the information you give us

You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you enter, in particular:

• the number of travellers and their age groups (under 18, 18–64, 65 and over) as at the date of travel;
• the vehicle type, gross weight in tonnes, total length and height, measured over the entire combination including any trailer, caravan, roof box or bicycle rack;
• the date, direction and crossing requested;
• your contact details, at which the confirmation will be sent.

Deck space is planned on the basis of these figures. If the vehicle presented at the port differs materially from the vehicle reserved — in particular if it is heavier, longer or higher — the operator may refuse carriage on that sailing or reassign it to a later one. Costs and consequences arising from incorrect data are your responsibility.

5. Travel documents, age and accompaniment

• Every traveller, including children and infants, must carry valid identification accepted for travel between Denmark and Germany.
• Travellers under 18 crossing without a parent or legal guardian may be required to present written authorisation; the operator’s rules on unaccompanied minors apply and may result in carriage being refused.
• Age-related conditions are assessed on the date of travel, not on the date of booking.
• Accessibility requirements notified in the booking form are passed to the operator, but cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed.

6. Vehicles, dangerous goods and safety

• Gas cylinders and LPG installations must be declared. Operator rules on closing valves and on maximum quantities apply throughout the crossing.
• Dangerous goods, as defined by the applicable maritime rules, may not be carried without prior declaration and written acceptance.
• Vehicle decks are closed while the vessel is at sea. You must take with you anything you will need during the crossing, including medication and documents.
• Instructions given by the crew are binding at all times, on the vehicle deck and elsewhere on board.
• Animals may only be carried in accordance with the operator’s rules and applicable veterinary requirements.

7. Check-in and arrival at the port

Check-in closes before departure, and the deadline differs by port, vehicle type and season. Travellers who arrive after the deadline have no claim to be carried on that sailing. Timetables may change at short notice for operational, weather or safety reasons; where a sailing is cancelled or rescheduled, the operator’s conditions of carriage determine your rights.

8. Changes, cancellation and refunds

Before you confirm. Submitting the booking form costs nothing and creates no payment obligation. You may withdraw the request at any time until you have confirmed the price we quote; simply reply to our email or write to the address below.

After confirmation. Requests to change or cancel a confirmed reservation must be made in writing and are subject to the conditions of the operator and of the fare type booked. The deadline that applies to your sailing, and any charge for changing or cancelling it, are stated in the confirmation email before any payment is due. Changes take effect only once we confirm them in writing.

Refunds. Any amount to be refunded is returned to the means of payment used, normally within 14 days of our written confirmation of the cancellation. Our service fee covers the handling of the reservation and is refunded only where we were unable to provide the reserved places.

Right of withdrawal. Under EU consumer law the 14-day right of withdrawal generally does not apply to passenger transport services. Where this is the case for your booking, it is stated in the confirmation, and the cancellation conditions above apply instead. Your rights in the event of cancellation or delay by the carrier follow Regulation (EU) No 1177/2010 on passenger rights when travelling by sea.

9. Availability of the website

We aim to keep the site and the booking form available continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, technical faults and interruptions at third-party systems can make the service temporarily unavailable. Where the booking form cannot process a request, an error message is displayed and the request is not registered — please repeat it later or use the contact address below.

10. Content and intellectual property

Route descriptions, distances, crossing durations and other information on this site are provided for planning purposes and are updated as carefully as we can, but they are not warranted to be free of error or current at every moment. Binding information about a particular sailing is the operator’s.

The texts, layout, code and graphics of this site are protected by copyright. You may view, print and store pages for your own private use. Any other reproduction, in particular systematic copying, scraping or republication, requires our prior written consent.

11. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for damage arising from injury to life, body or health. In cases of slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation, and then only for the damage typically foreseeable in this kind of contract. Liability for the carriage itself lies with the operator performing it. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which our registered office is located, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.

13. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms where necessary, for example to reflect changes in the service or in the law. The version in force at the time your reservation request is submitted applies to that request. The current version is always published on this page with its version number and date.
